A quick drawing of Oatis, a really cute robot that Timotheus Welman came up with. I really like this character, so I figured why not try and make my own version!

A few pictures I drew for illustration class last night. Our task was to come up with images to accompany the short horror story The Landlady by Roald Dahl.

Super Game Jam is an upcoming five-part documentary by Bram Ruiter, Daniel Oliveira Carneiro and Devolver Digital, portraying pairs of game makers and their attempts to create games within 48 hours. The series documents the magnificently messy process of coming up with a game in a very short amount of time and the interactions of developers who have never worked together before.

I’m thrilled to announce that I will be featured in Super Game Jam’s second episode along with Christoffer Hedborg (Shelter, Pid, Tru Luv)! Our episode was filmed at the end of January – it will be out on Steam in May, bundled with our game and access to all the other games and episodes.

For more info (and a glimpse at bits and pieces of our game!), visit the Super Game Jam website or watch this nice little announcement trailer:

This is kind of a special one: I helped in creating a music video for German rapper Rockstah's new single “Superheldenanzug”!

It tells the story of a young girl who finds Rockstah’s gang leader cape (left behind at the end of his last video), absorbing its superpowers to beat up thugs and save the day. Inspired by comics and videogames, it features visual effects in the vein of Scott Pilgrim as well as a few bits of pixel art that I was allowed to throw in last-minute.

“Superheldenanzug” is out right now – watch the video here:

Shout-out to director Julian Middlebrooks and animator partner-in-crime Dennis Podehl, who did a great job filming and putting the thing together!

Starting this week, I’m studying visual design & communications at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. To introduce freshmen to each other and the highly complex and dangerous student life, the school likes to host a one-week handicraft frenzy leading to a themed party.

This year’s theme is “space”, which is why I put up this little guy on one of the building’s walls to be exhibited tomorrow. (Image re-posted from my Instagram)

I made some art and animations for LAZA KNITEZ!!, Glitchnap’s local multiplayer game about “4 ULTRANOBLE WARRIORZ FROM THE TECHNOFUTURE MEETING ON A FIELD OF MINDBLOWING HYPERCOMBAT TO DECIDE THE FATE OF ALL POSSIBLE FUTURES”!

The knights have been around for a while now, but since there was an Ouya release in the works I was asked to help out. I re-made and animated all the player sprites, power-ups, loading screen and a few menu bits. Here’s a nice little launch trailer showing some of that:

LAZA KNITEZ!! is officially out for Ouya right now and free to try.

ちょっと! I made some character animations for Tim Baumgarten’s iOS app Hiragana Kurs, a nice little tool that helps users learn Japanese syllabary. Depending on whether you complete a lesson or not, these little guys pop up to congratulate or annihilate you. Hiragana Kurs (German) is available in the App Store right now.
